After designing jewellery for the last 12 years I felt like I had hit a wall. Nothing in the jewellery world was inspiring me, everything felt like same, same, same. Pieces no longer were produced with a soul or a spirit just in high quantities and a ready for a fast turn over. They were just more possessions to be thrown out than beautiful designs to be treasured and kept. Finally, I have stumbled upon these beautiful dream catchers by Tini Courtney. I am so excited to find this jewellery. It is a free spirited line of jewellery you should check out HOWL (Handle Only With Love). It has a soul and it has meaning and I find it really motivating and refreshing to see jewellery produced with a passion.
“Tini’s intention behind H.O.W.L is to bring positive and symbolic energy to each one of a kind piece and its owner. Every piece is handmade by Tini and created with naturally healing gemstones, charms and a mix of vintage and contemporary chain. Inspired by the mystic power of the Native American “Dream Catcher”, Tini integrates her treasures found traveling to produce her necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. H.O.W.L has received notable press from Style, People, Haute Living, and recent editorials in Vogue Latin America. Tini’s “Dream Catchers” have been worn by many celebrities including, Johnny Depp, Zoe Kravitz, Juliette Lewis and Edward Sharpe to name a few.” HOWL
I’ve just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget todays pain
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
I am trying not to hunt for goodies on the weekend. However, I came across these little ceramic bird bowls on etsy by Prince Design UK and I couldn’t resist sharing them with you.
You can keep these beautifully handmade ceramic dishes by the sink or next to your bed and keep all your rings and little things safe. I think it would be a sweet gift for a friend to treasure. Each little bird is unique. Its features are individually stamped and shaped uniquely. Click here to check out Prince Design UK shop online.
Below is an update on some of the fun things I found this week:
- Sensual Lingerie: Lasciovous UK
- Design Obsessed: Benah Accessories
- The Men in Our Life:Eco Friendly Wallets
I am so excited I have tracked down these bags. Aussie designer Brenda Harvey is creating some beautiful accessories. Benah bags are perfect. The colour combinations are subtle and easy to use all year round I love her use of both leather and canvas in her bags. My favourites are the Alex Ipad case. It is big enough to use as a clutch and I could load it up with all my handbag essential paraphenalia. I also love the messenger bag by Benah. I am looking forward to placing my order asap.

JETSAM BIFOLD WALLET
These nifty wallets are crafted using reclaimed vintage plaid shirts, suit coats and vintage ties. Such a clever way to create an awesome accessory and recycle at the same time.
Originally all products were manufactured in-house by designer and founder Laura Skelton. ”After nearly four years of growth, the new Jetsam line continues to embody a commitment to sustainable and socially responsible practices, sourcing vintage and end-run materials and recycled packaging in addition to keeping production close to home, so you can feel good about what you keep in your pocket.” Jetsam
“This is what happens when Asian zen philosophy is crossed with the sleek elements of Scandinavian design? The result is a teapot with a beautiful aesthetic and flawless function. The MENU Glass Kettle Teapot stimulates all senses during tea time, with a linear Japanese form and supreme clarity. To get a perfect steep for every type of tea, the pot has an easy-to-use egg that lifts above the water line. No bitter tea, no burnt finger, and no dripping on the tea table. Zen, indeed. Packaged in branded gift box. Not for use on stoves.”

Sharpener collection
“Decent production is the basic principle behind the Munio brand. I find it quite remarkable, really, that so much production takes place improperly and anonymously that working properly has become something special. Of course, it is always possible to take ideals too far – of which I suspect the gentlemen at Munio – but it is actually a reassuring thought. After toying with a number of ideas, I realised that production in faraway countries is largely determined by schooling and access to capital and goods. A pencil sharpener is probably the cheapest tool in the world and can be used by practically everyone, which is why I came up with the sharpener collection: baskets, organisers, serving trays, clocks and a stool. We will be presenting the first models, which will be available later this year, at the trade show.” written on the Piet Ein Eek sight. I could not say it any better than he has!!! Fairtrade is so crucial in our society. We need to enjoy all these amazing products however it is essential they are produced ethically and with high moral standards. I think these baskets are beautiful and would be a superb gift.
